Kathleen Delate receives Outstanding Achievement in Extension or Professional Practice Award

Kathleen Delate, Professor of Horticulture and Agronomy, and Organic Agriculture Specialist for Iowa State Extension and Outreach, has been awarded the Iowa State University Award for Outstanding Achievement in Extension or Professional Practice.

As Vice President for Extension & Outreach, Cathann Kress remarked at the awards ceremony, "Dr. Delate was the first land-grant faculty member in organic agriculture in the U.S. in 1997; and since that time, she has built an internationally recognized Extension & Outreach and applied research program.

An organic farmer had this to say about Dr. Delate: I can attest to her commitment to helping agricultural producers in Iowa become better stewards of the land and enhance the viability of Iowa’s rural communities.”
